Continuous Improvement Engineer

Descriptions The Process Improvement Engineer's role is to contribute to the development and the implementation of a culture of continuous improvement. The Engineer acts as a change agent who encourages the company to constantly question its practices by supporting improvements, proposing initiatives, and enabling contributors to take ownership in this matter.

The Engineer's tasks include the following, but are not limited to:

- Identify improvement opportunities in the various business sectors;
- Define and/or create proper continuous improvement tools;
- Support teams in the implementation of continuous improvement projects by building project mandates with internal clients;
- Ensure the development of team members' aptitudes and competencies in order to stimulate autonomy in proposing process improvement initiatives for their department;
- Identify, prevent, and manage resistance to change;
- Lead multidisciplinary working groups at all levels of the organization;
- Supervise and coordinate the workload of the Process and Engineer Support Technician;
- Complete assigned mandates respecting established timelines and budget.

Requirements Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor's Degree in Industrial Engineering (or other related discipline);
- A minimum of five (5) years of experience in process improvement;
- Experience in the manufacturing environment;
- Bilingual (English/French) - written and oral;
- Highly proficient with Microsoft Office;
- Knowledge of continuous improvement concepts and tools (Kaizen, 5S, Kanban, VSM, etc.);
- Understanding of project management principles;
- Knowledge of quality management systems (an asset);
- Certification Six Sigma, Green Belt or Black Belt (an asset).

Aptitudes & Personal Qualities:
- Ability to manage multidisciplinary teams;
- Ability to coach problem-solving teams;
- Capacity to develop training tools and to provide training to internal clients;
- Excellent communication skills, active listening;
- Results-oriented and autonomous.
